About Us:
At the heart of our vibrant and diverse community, our Music Ministry plays a pivotal role in enhancing the spiritual experience of our churchgoers. Led by our dedicated Liturgical Music Director, Roberto Matthews, our ministry comprises three choirs, each contributing to the tapestry of our worship.
Choirs:
Polyphonic Choir (English): This dynamic choir enriches the 10:30 am Sunday Mass with their harmonious melodies and heartfelt devotion. The Polyphonic Choir, under Roberto's direction, creates a sacred atmosphere through a blend of traditional and contemporary music.
Spanish Choir: Our Spanish Choir elevates the Saturday 6:30 pm Spanish Mass with their beautiful voices. Their songs resonate with the soul, bringing a sense of unity and reverence to the Spanish-speaking members of our congregation.
Vietnamese Choir: A recent addition, our Vietnamese Choir, established in July, brings the vibrant sounds of Vietnam to our Sunday 6:00 pm Vietnamese Mass. This choir represents the growth and diversity of our community, fostering inclusivity and connection.
About Roberto Matthews:
Roberto Matthews has been the Liturgical Music Director for our church since 2001. His dedication to our ministry is unparalleled. He not only leads the choirs but also contributes his own vocal and instrumental talents, singing, playing the piano, and organ, particularly during the Lenten season. Roberto ensures that the songs chosen for our worship are thoughtfully coordinated with the Sunday readings, enhancing the liturgical experience for all.
Our Musical Philosophy:
At the core of our Music Ministry is the commitment to providing a spiritual experience through music. We believe in a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary songs that resonate with the diversity of our congregation. Our mission is to uplift the soul, fostering a deeper connection with our faith through the power of music.
Thank you for being a part of our Music Ministry. We invite you to join us in the joy of worship through song and harmony.
Yesterday, Christ the King had its first celebration focusing on family. Family Day as it's fondly referred to, is also when the CTK Children's Choir sings along with the CTK Polyphonic Choir (adult choir). Both choirs are directed by CTK's Director of Music, Mr. Roberto S. Matthews
